Mozart’s Mass in c, K. 427

On Sunday, March 11, at 5:00 P.M., at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 800 Northshore Drive in Knoxville, Westminster’s Chancel Choir will join Ascension’s Parish Choir and members of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra to perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Mass in c, K. 427 as part of that church’s Friends of Music and the Arts concert series. This mass is often referred to as the “Great” and its scale is just that—monumental and grand. The solo work is virtuosic and the choruses mammoth, including movements scored for eight voice parts (double chorus). Soloists will include our own Meredith Mackay and Terrance McCracken. Due to its difficulty and scope, the work is not often heard, so we hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to come support the choirs and experience this glorious work! There is no charge for admission.
